Juan Avila vs Tirso Sigg

Red-Carpet Brawl I Recap: Juan “El Tornado” Avila vs. Tier “Soul Tears

This matchup was more than gloves and grit—it was heart, community, and mutual respect.

Juan Avila, a proud father and USAA team member, stepped into the ring as “El Tornado, the South Side Savage.” Representing the Leha Family Foundation, Juan brought passion and purpose to his corner, raising awareness for mental health, especially within the Latino community. “We need to show that it’s okay to talk about this,” he said, sharing how boxing has been not only good for his body, but healing for his soul.

Facing him was Tier “Soul Tears” So, a San Antonio restaurateur, sculptor, and father, fighting for the Children’s Bereavement Center. His motivation? Highlighting the importance of having present parents and support systems in a child’s life—especially for those navigating loss. “Every kid needs that kind of adult support,” Tier shared.

After three intense one-minute rounds, Juan Avila took home the win by unanimous decision. He praised Tier’s strength and stamina, noting that he “took a lot of body shots” strategically to slow down Tier’s relentless pace.

This was a fight between two passionate fathers, creators, and community leaders—each swinging with purpose for something bigger than themselves.
